Celtic Knotwork

See also page on Tessellations

Celtic knots: An art form which has ancient roots in the pagan and later Christian art of the Celts who were found all over Europe before the Romans did their best to take over the world. It was used to decorate many things and is found in ancient stone-work and metal-work. And is well known for its use in embellishing scripture pages in the Book of Kells and other such manuscripts. For examples of art by the Celts see  Examples from the Book of Kells

I have studied many knots by other other people, ancient and contemporary,
but my knots are myown orignial creations (though someone else in the world, and time, could have come up with one similar, that I don't know about.)

Examples of my work:

For help in learning to draw your own Celtic knotwork, I recommend

by Andy Sloss.
(Note - I came up with this idea of how to use his method of creating knots, to create crosses on my own, you will not find that in the book)
